Flagler News Tribune 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards
Every year, Daytona Beach News Journal and Flagler News Tribune’s Best Around & Readers’ Choice Awards offer the chance to those outstanding businesses to be recognized by the community.
It takes a lot of hard work and motivation for a business to not only make themselves known in a community, but also to make a lasting impression on their customers and the overall community.
2014 Reader’s Choice Awards were held at European Village in Palm Coast, recognizing nearly 200 businesses as winners in their respective categories.
Interestingly, European Village itself won the best live entertainment venue in Palm Coast and Flagler County. As a one-stop destination for all things dining, shopping, lounging, and entertainment –and with an agressive live music and performance schedule at European Village’s Center-Stage during the Spring, Summer and Fall months certainly this was a well deserved award.
Along with European Village’s success, there were six other winners, located within the Village itself, chosen by their respective categories, these businesses include: Blooming Flowers and Gifts, Coastal Mermaid, Farley’s Irish Pub, La Piazza Cafe, Mezzaluna Pizzeria, and The Humidor Cigar Bar and Lounge.
Winners were chosen due to the incredible ability they have in serving their customers and leaving an impression. As winners were announced from the stage, smiles ran across the faces of the crowd that came out the night of September 9th to recognize the accomplishment that each of these businesses truly deserve.
Congratulations to all those for this outstanding achievement!

Cafe Gelato opens at The European Village in Palm Coast (closed as of 2015)
Please note:
Regrettably Cafe Gelato closed as of year 2015Cafe Gelato is officially open to the public. 30 flavors and desserts made on the premises, all from scratch.
So what is the difference between Ice Cream and Gelato?
According to a Huffington Post Taste Article: Ice Cream vs Gelato: “What’s The Difference? “Gelato has less fat than ice cream. While ice cream is normally heavy on the cream and has a fat content of at least 10 percent, gelato uses more milk than cream, and generally also uses less egg yolks — if any. Ice creams are churned faster and harder than gelato.”
Larry Jr. and Larry Sr, owners of La Piazza Cafe, have given Palm Coast another taste of Italy. With about 30 premium flavors to choose from, and a parade of fresh desserts, your taste buds are in for a treat. Next time you visit, don’t hesitate to ask Larry Sr. how the Gelato is made. They are taking great pride in every spoonful.
Delizioso!
Like the video says…Run…Don’t Walk.

Under 20 at European Village
20 dollars. One twenty dollar bill. Two 10 dollar bills. Four 5 dollar bills. Twenty 1 dollar bills. No matter how you spin it, 20 dollars is really not that big of an amount. Or is it?
On a visit to European Village, three young women, Amanda, Monica, and Ivana, dared to push the limit by spending the afternoon by shopping and eating at European Village, with only 20 dollars each to spend. They are all under 20, with 20 dollars each. Although they shopped and dined together, they each had different experiences.
How would you spend your 20?
If you have any ideas for how you would choose to spend your $20 at the European Village, feel free to let us know in comments below.
